As part of the aims of the ATC we are committed to developing the leadership abilities of our cadets, and providing training to meet current legislation. Some courses include objective feedback for cadets and unit commanders.
Who should attend
All cadets aged 17 or over (Mandatory)
Course content
Duty of Care, Equal Opportunities, Rules for the Mess, Structure of the Corps, Introduction to training, and Media communications, Dress & Discipline
Who should attend
All cadets who show potential for NCO - Pre-requisite for Corporal
Course content
Role of a Junior NCO, Drill, Discipline, Leadership styles, Getting things done, SMEAC, Practical leadership
Who should attend
All Corporal cadets who show potential for Sergeant - Pre-requisite for Sergeant
Course content
Role of a Senior NCO, Teaching Drill, Leadership, Leadership styles, Getting things done, Problem Solving techniques, Morale, Working with Teams, Communication
Who should attend
Those who have attended a JNCO or SNCO course. Minimum rank Corporal
Course content
Similar to the SNCO course minus the drill, but in much greater depth
Who should attend
Any Corporals, plus those cadets with NCO potential
Course content
Refinement of basic drill techniques and banner drill and basic drill instruction
Who should attend
Cadets who have attended the Drill course above
Course content
Further refinement of the drill course content, and teaching cadets the skill of drill instruction
Who should attend
Cadets registered for the BTEC First Diploma who have not completed the project and workbook
Course content
12 hours of work completing the project, workbook and interview
Who should attend
This course is for all senior/instructor cadets who teach the academic syllabus.

Qualities of an Instructor, the learning process, class participation, training aids, teaching by objectives, plannining & preparation, classroom delivery, preparing a lesson, and delivering a lesson.
